ERW production lines often start with a strip unwinder. It consists of a system in charge of delivering regularly the strip for production. It can be motorized (and controlled by automation) or mechanically slowed down.
Strip unwinders are often designed for 2 coils in order to prepare the next coil while the first one is used in production (Loading and unloading realized as a background task). In this case, the strip unwinder rotates. Therefore, it is convenient when operators have to switch coils.
